Libby Bortz Assisted Living opened in 1994 and today is a well-known affordable assisted living community serving the Denver metro area. We are located the in historic downtown Littleton area. Libby Bortz Assisted Living Expanded Care & Services

Libby Bortz Assisted Living is pleased to announce that expanded care and services are coming soon to Libby Bortz. The expanded care and services will include:

  • Offer enhanced care and services at an additional cost some of which
    include dressing assistance, personal hygiene care (daily grooming),
    incontinence care management, medication management, bathing
    assistance, and escort to and from meals and activities.
  • Have newly renovated apartments.
  • Be in a designated area on the first floor – convenient to dining
    and activities.

Location: Jefferson County Administration Building

24 Break-Out Sessions on topics such as: Avoiding Investment Fraud, Estate Planning, Power-of-Attorney, Gun Safety and Regulations, Code Enforcement Laws, Fire & Fall Prevention, Medicare/Medicaid, Probate, Advanced Directives, ID Theft Prevention and more. Registration fee is $10 and provides Continental breakfast, Mid-morning snack, Box lunch, Ask-An-Attorney—15 minute free sit-down with an attorney and a copy of the 2018 Colorado Senior Law Handbook. Aging 2.0 Local Denver – Changing the Narrative Initiative
Location: Covenant Village of Colorado

Changing the Narrative Initiative is a strategic communications campaign designed to change the negative and inaccurate stereotypes that the public holds about older people. The campaign will train audiences in research-based framing strategies about aging and ageism and will advance effective and productive messages about older people through social media campaigns and through op-ed pieces and stories in print and electronic media. A core strategy of the Initiative is training influential organizations like Aging2.0 Denver Chapter and it’s members in Reframing Aging. This is information that can be used by aging stakeholders, advocates, startups in the aging space and seniors themselves. Facilitated by a Frameworks Institute Certified Master Trainer, the presenter is Janine Vandenburg who describes herself in as a social entrepreneur, community activist, facilitator, designer, boomer leading change, encore career champion, feminist, social change idea generator, and Mom!

Arapahoe County Council on Aging Monthly Meeting
Location: Caley Ridge Assisted Living

Arapahoe County Council on Aging (ACCOA) is the official spokesman for the aging population in Arapahoe County. Everyone is welcome to attend the ACCOA meetings. They are open to the public, professionals, retirees, all ages. Light refreshments are served. People attending ACCOA meetings at the Caley Assisted Living facility are not to park in the Vet’s paved parking lot and are to use either the Caley Ridge parking lot, the graveled/rocked vet parking lot, or the parking lot next door at Boston Commons as long as it is NOT the covered parking.

90th Celebration of Western Welcome Week Celebrating Community & Friendship
Location: Downtown Littleton, Colorado
Western Welcome Week is an annual community celebration in the greater Littleton area. Western Welcome Week began in the late 1920s, and has been held every year since. Western Welcome Week includes over 40 events, produced by over 20 organizations, benefiting dozens of local civic and charitable organizations. Volunteerism and support from the business community are what make Western Welcome Week a success year after year. The goal of Western Welcome Week is to nurture community spirit, bring together residents and businesses, to support service clubs and nonprofits by creating an opportunity for fundraising, and to provide festivities and entertainment for families, friends and neighbors.

The Bemis Public Library of Littleton offers a variety of classes and events for all ages. Of interest to seniors are their computer classes and their Aging Well Resource Center. The Center provides information on health and medical service, medical insurance, transportation, food and nutrition, in-home care services and will assist citizens in finding any other aging well information they seek. The Library maintains a website that lists all of the resources that can be found at the Bemis Public Library.
