September brings us National Assisted Living Week from September 10th through 16th and the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Both of these are special annual events that are very important to seniors, their families and the professionals that serve seniors.

The theme of National Assisted Living Week is “Family is Forever.” The theme is inspired by a quote from the American poet Maya Angelou that says, “Family isn’t always blood, it’s the people in your life who want you in theirs: the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.”

Maya Angelou’s quote reflects the deep relationship that the staff and residents at Libby Bortz Assisted Living have for one and other. We celebrate this relationship during National Assisted Living Week.
